Another Ice Storm?

The weather forcast is snow and ice for us in the next few days. . .Just a few years ago we had an ice storm that took some time to recover from - no electricity for us for almost a week. . .Rumor has it that it could be that bad again. . .

We are getting propane so we will have a way to cook should we loose our power. . .We have firewood (more than last time) and plenty of blankets. . .We have meat and potatoes, bacon and eggs so we will be able to eat. . .And, we will fill some coolers with water (we have a well) :)

That was the worst part of the last storm - not being able to shower! UG - yuck!

Bud is supposed to start playing ball tournament beginning tomorrow - we'll just wait and see what mother nature brings us. . .We won our game last night against Blackwell (2nd win against them) and they are our first game Thursday night in the tournament. . .

Have a great hump day! ! !

Hope you don't lose power! I've seen some of the news of the Midwest (Nebraska) with all their ice storms. Don't like ice - no siree.

Whenever I lose power, I think about all those pioneers. Man - I would never survive.

Please, please send some of that my way! It's like spring in Virginia and it's driving me crazy!

I do hope you don't lose power - that would be awful.

I'm almost looking forward to the cold weather. I too am stocked up on food and water. We live ontop of a big hill so getting to town FOR ME is hard. My husband is a goat and can drive through anything. I'll drive on snow but not ice.

Oklahoma weather.. you just never know do you?

I wonder if you are speaking of the same ice storm we suffered here in Arkansas...maybe at the end of year 2000? I remember the power went off the day after Christmas - and was off for 8 days. It was the only year I didn't throw a NYE party. I live in EXTREME western Arkansas - and I'm going to the store TONIGHT to stock up, just in case. Our forecast is calling for "wintry mix" on Sunday - do you live further west in Oklahoma?

Vicki - you are a little further east of me. . .I don't mind driving in any of it but I'm always scared some dummy will hit me that doesn't have a clue how to drive in it.

Tiggerlane - I'm sure we are talking about the same storm. . .We are in North Central OK - Garfield County. . .

Feeling the pain here too. We just experienced out 14th major storm since early November. Yesterday I crashed into a very expensive looking SUV in my antique Honda. It was a really bad day.

But, I have power. And water. And insurance rates that will surely rise. I guess it could be much worse.

Claudia - rumor has it that people are out buying up generators as fast as the stores can get them. . . :( I have my fingers crossed!

Vicki - I'll be over to see what is happening. . . :)

I'm with you Songbird! That stank!

Marnie - so glad you didn't get hurt. . .I'll say a little prayer that your insurance company is nice to you! :) You all have been pretty cold up there!

Boy I hear yo with the no shower thing! We're in the worst drought for 150 years and my water supply is from rainwater tanks that collect rain from my roof.

Needless to say I don't take long showers, and I don't take them every day. Argh I hate it!!

btw it was 108F here today.
