New Year's Resolutions

Ha ha! I quit having a resolution because I always disappoint myself. . .

Instead - I have decided I want to loose weight this year. . .I feel like I look like the Goodyear blimp and want to loose 50 pounds. . .So, forgive me if I get grouchy. . . :) I don't mean it personally. . .LOL . . .my poor family. . .Almost 3 years ago I quit smoking - I'm finally over all that drama, so now I'll loose the weight that I've put on due to the extra stress that IS NO LONGER IN MY LIFE. . .

Wish me luck! ! ! I'll take any and all suggestions. . .I'm starting by cutting down on meal size and light exercise. . .I invite all of you that want to join me to do so and let me know - we can complain to one another. . .

Here we go!

I know this isn't the BEST advice, but I've found that I can jump-start weight loss with a diet pill, and then it's easier to get on the exercise kick. Plus, it tends to curb my appetite a LOT. Of course, it's never good to take them long-term, but about 6 weeks of them might help get things started.

Water water water and then drink some more water just to be safe.

I'm cutting back on the diet soda and trying instead to drink more water.

I'm with you on this one!!!!

Also - I can't eat anything else after dinner. So no food passes my lips after 6pm. (no popcorn in front of the t.v., no ice-cream while watching 24, nada, nothing).

And - yes excersizing. I set my alarm for 5:30 this morning to get up and do my Pilates tape - and instead, just hit snooze for an hour. Shame on me.

Tiggerlane - I have used some diet suppresants (sp?) before and didn't feel like they helped one bit. . . you have any suggestions?

Oh yes Vicki - lots and lots and lots of water. . .I have cut myself back on the carbonated drinks period. . .I LOVE ICED TEA.

Karmyn - laugh at me but I have been doing a few little exercises in the shower. . . LOL - I know - how damn funny is that! ! ! but at least it's exercise - right?

As busy as we are I'm having a hard time fitting in the exercise and eating the right things. . .

My mom looks better at 60 something than I do at 37. One of her secrets is using a small plate when she eats. It (apparently) is supposed to make you feel like you've got a large portion....I dunno. It works for her. She also walks just about everywhere and drinks lots of water...
Good luck. I should start to think about losing some extra weight myself....

Hey Shauna, Weight watchers' always works well for me. You can do it online for $17 a month! Love it, don't have to go to meetings if ya don't want to! Oh yeah and I drink at least 9 glasses of water a day! It keeps me feeling full and hydrated! And I stay away from the candy jar at work! LOL, hope those tidbits help ya out! Enjoy the hump day!! LOL

Thanks so much AJ! Sounds like a reasonable rate. What is the fee for?
