Scared of Santa

At first this story isn't very funny, but the ending made it worth it.

For years after Birddog's sisters had kids, Birddog's dad dressed up as Santa. . .The kids always had a blast when Santa would show up at the front door and have a present for each one of them to open. Santa would hug everyone at the gathering and wish everyone a Merry Christmas as he was leaving. . .The smiles were just wonderful. . .

When we had our kids Birddog's dad dressed up till Bud was about 3 (Scoop was 1). We showed up for Christmas and Grandpa wasn't dressing up. . .Now our oldest is 7 years younger than the youngest of Birddog's sister. . .Birddog threw a fit! We didn't get to enjoy Santa showing up to the door that evening. . .

The next morning as we were getting ready to have Christmas with my family (at our house) - Santa showed up at our front door. . .We answered the door and could hear Santa's big Ho, Ho, Ho. . .Bud ran up to see who was at the door and got HUGE eyes. . .as Santa entered the house, Bud's eyes got bigger and he grabbed holt. . .Once Santa was completely into the living room and started coming towards him, Bud made a bee-line for his bedroom and hid! It took a lot of coxing to get him to come out and see what Santa had forgot to leave! - - -It was so funny! My mom and I chuckle about this every Christmas. . .

This made it all worth not getting Santa the night before!

My brother was scared of Santa as a boy too. I tried to pull his beard off!

There were no mall santas when I was small, because there were no malls.
So, you had to go to a fancy schmancy department store in a larger community.

I only remember visiting once. He smalled like MOTH BALLS.

ps. (Do moths even have balls? OOOPS!)

I remember when Santa came my father could never see him. Later of course I understood, it was him !

Pamela, I grew up in a small town in southeast Colorado and mom took us to the bank, where Santa sat in the window and waved as people drove and walked by.

LOL - I don't know if moths have balls or not. . . :)

Gattina - he had you. . . :)

Cybercelt - I don't remember him waking up in the middle of the night after that. . . :)

If you really think about it - Santa is VERY Scary!!! That big white beard, the round belly - frightening.
