Through My Front Door

Vicki has asked each of to us post our view from our front door. This is going to be so much fun to see what our blogging friends view is every time they open their front door!

The snow made our view prettier than the poor brown grass. . . :)

I had to add my front door picture. . . I like Willowtree's!

And, here is the biggest selling point of our house. . .this is the elementary school. . .Bud was in his second semester of Kindergarten when we bought our house. . .

Yes, I did add more pics. . .sorry. . .

Pamela - My birddog shoveled and shoveled. . . It took him forever! He started Thursday night while it was still ice. . .As the snow fell he would go out and shovel every couple of hours. . :)

I really like the snow!

I have to know what is in the flowerpot - the remnants of a holiday poinsetta, perhaps?

LOVE the snow!

Looks like a nice, neat neighborhood. I like the brick (low maintenance) exteriors.

I see you're a busy basketball mom also!

Your are so right Susan!

Devon - we have a lot of people moving to OK from CA. . .they pretty much pay for their homes in full from the sale of theirs in CA. . .

That is nice to have the elementary school so close. Now, if it was a High School, I'd tell you how Sorry I was for you. I rented a house that was directly across the street from the local high school once. Horror - especially football nights.

Beautiful snow. You sure got a lot.

I'll bet you have a lot of fun watching kids. I love to watch them coming and going from the park. They have such energy.

You have a very nice door.

LOL Sue! We don't get much snow here so when we do I GET REALLY EXITED! :) Thanks for the compliment on the door - Birddog and I redid it a few years ago - it used to be really dark and UGLY. .

Karmyn - Now that the boys are in H.S. I wish we lived closer to it. . . :) I'm sure that you had people blocking you in on football nights. . .My sister and her hubby used to back up to the big stadium here and people would pay them to park in their circle drive. . .

I think we got around 6" of snow. . .I am enjoying it. . .Sad to see it melting. . .

tlawwife - It is fun to watch the little ones at the playground. . .When my boys were there I would look for them and watch them. . . It was a lot of fun :)

Thank you too for the compliment on the door. . .

Willowtree had a neat idea when he posted his! I just had to copy. . .

Wow Shauna, a brick house! You don't see many of them in the States. They are the most common form of housing over here.

Look like someone is getting some snow.

I got your your comment about using my idea and posting your front door. I didn't mind at all until I got here and found that yours makes mine look like shit! Oh well.

Willowtree - don't know if you've been to the great state of OK - but brick homes are pretty common here.

We got around 6" of snow on top of ice. . .The snow is so pretty. . .

My front door doesn't make yours look like sh*!. . .Can't believe you said that. . . :)

Sonbird - thanks. . .Send me your address - I'll send you some snow. . .We all got some much needed precip. . .

wow...that is a big yard...and lots of snow!! Very nice front door.

Hmmm, brick hours are common here, too (TN)...and in SC...and NC...and GA, everywhere I've lived in the SE.

Maybe we should do a round-robin post with front door pics; I thought it was a great idea when WT (and now you) included it, it never crossed my mind because Vicki instructed us to stand in our doorway and snap a picture of our view...I'm very obedient that way :).

Oh, and 1) snow envy and 2) your kids can tell THEIR kids one day that they walked to school in the snow! HA!!

Looks like a great place for kids.

At 6:16 PM, Blogger Shauna said...

Claudia - our back yard is much bigger :) And, thanks. . .

Robin - LOL on being obedient - I started that way until I saw WT's post. . . LOL - why not stretch it a bit. . .he he

We really like our neighborhood, but I sure would like to have a little bit more room to roam. . . :)

Nice pics! You have so much more snow than we do! The snow in my pic is only a day old, too.

Great door--my door is a dreadful laminated, peeling monstrosity. Must sand and repaint it soon.

At 8:27 PM, Blogger Shauna said...

Thanks Kurt! My Birddog told me that he had no intentions of redoing the door again. . . In other words, next time I get a new one. . .The sun really plays havoc on it. . .
